Youth Novels is a debut album from a 21-year old Swedish singer, songwriter. The cute, almost
Bjork-like voice on the record belongs to
Lykke Li. Her songs are short, sweet and breezy. Unlike many girly pop singer out there, tho,
Lykke also plays her own instruments. *GASP*
Youth Novels was produced by
Bjorn Yttling, of the famous
Peter, Bjorn, and John.
Lykke lent her vocal during several live performances of
PB&J's radio hit, "Young Folks". Her music struck me as a mixture of
Yo La Tengo,
Feist, and a wee bit of
Architecture in Helsinki. I think many will agree that
Youth Novels is just the right album to welcome the Spring season this year.
