I don't like any of The Smashing Pumpkins tribute albums out there. I have given almost all of them a listen and they're all pretty horrible. Even if there's one currently in production, I know for sure I won't like it. I just don't think Pumpkins songs are meant to be sung by anyone else but Billy Corgan. I'm even more enraged when tribute bands tried to goth-ified or emo-fied Pumpkins songs. Blasphemous, I say. But this little album is an exception. There's no vocal and they picked the right songs to be played on glockenspiel, vibraphone, melltoron and other twinkle, soothing sounding instruments. That's right, Rockabye Baby! simply cutiefied Smashing Pumpkins and turned them into lullabies. I don't know how babies react to these songs, but I don't mind it so much. "Galapogos" is one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs and easily my favorite in this made-for-babies compilation as well. There are other bands such as Radiohead, Metallica, Coldplay, etc. in the Rockabye Baby series. Check out the label site.
