Albert Hammond Jr. has returned with a sophomore album, Como Te Llama due out on July 8. I must say he has dodged the sophomore album curse and delivered an album that's even better than his first. The sound production is a lot more polished and the songs are finely crafted and tuned. As much fun as any of The Strokes albums and characterized with Albert's song arrangements, Como Te Llama is one of those albums with each song as enjoyable as the next that it's hard to point out which would be a favorite.

The self-produced album was recorded over a 5-week period. It includes help from Sean Lennon's piano on "Spooky Couch" and a string quartet on many of the tracks. Albert Hammond Jr along with his band are currently on tour and for a limited time, you can listen to the album on myspace.
