I can't stop listening to "Parachute", the single from
Shugo Tokumaru and nearly burst into pieces from cute overloaded. The album will be released in the US in September. But for now, we'd have to occupy ourselves with the dreamy music videos on youtube for the
"Parachute",
"Green Rain" and
"Button". Although, listening to his songs, I can't help but having my own visuals painted in my head much like a scene from a Miyazaki movie.
Quirky, cute, and almost psychedelic, the Tokyo-based multi-instrumentalist,
Shugo Tokumaru, has been creating music since his early age. From his bedroom, he's recorded and released two albums in Japan,
L.S.T. and
Night Piece, which were as equally rich and interesting as his soon-to-be first U.S. release,
Exit. In
Exit there seems to be a certain playfulness comparable to that of
Momus and
Cornelius that was absent in his previous albums. I marked my iCal for its release on September 2nd. That's how much I look forward to it.
